Senior Platform Engineer (Infrastructure & DevOps)

About the Role

We are building a large-scale, multi-tenant SaaS platform that processes high-volume data and serves business-critical workflows for customers across industries.

This role is focused on owning the infrastructure end-to-end — from server setup and networking to deployment, monitoring, and reliability.

This is not a cloud-only DevOps role.

You will work on real infrastructure, real servers, and real operational challenges.

Role Overview

You will be the first Platform / Infra Engineer in the team.

Your responsibility is to build, harden, and operate the entire infrastructure stack, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability as the platform grows.

This is a hands-on role requiring deep ownership and strong problem-solving ability.

Key ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure & Systems

• Set up and manage Linux-based servers (Ubuntu preferred)
• Configure and maintain VMs, storage, and compute resources
• Implement system hardening, patching, and access control
• Manage firewall rules, VPN access, and SSH security

Networking & Security

• Configure DNS, SSL (Let’s Encrypt), and reverse proxies (Nginx)
• Implement secure network communication and access control
• Perform periodic security audits and system checks

Containerization & Services

• Deploy and manage services using Docker / docker-compose
• Handle container lifecycle, networking, and storage volumes
• Ensure best practices for container security and performance

Monitoring & Observability

• Set up monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, and logging tools
• Build dashboards for system health and performance
• Configure alerting for critical failures (CPU, disk, memory, services)

CI/CD & Deployment

• Build and maintain deployment pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)
• Implement zero-downtime deployments
• Manage staging and production environments

Backup & Disaster Recovery

• Set up automated backups and restore mechanisms
• Define and test recovery procedures
• Maintain documentation and runbooks

Required Skills

• 7+ years of Linux server administration (production environments)
• Strong experience with Docker & containerized systems
• Proficiency in Nginx (reverse proxy, SSL, routing)
• PostgreSQL basics (backup, restore, performance awareness)
• Networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, TLS)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)
• Monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent
• Strong Bash / scripting skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience with virtualization (KVM / QEMU)
• VPN setup (WireGuard or similar)
• Object storage (MinIO / S3)
• Log aggregation tools (Loki, ELK, etc.)
• Secrets management tools (Vault or similar)
• Experience with self-hosted systems at scale
