Brain Bristle is a not-for-profit foundation for autism and inclusion, currently based in Mumbai. The organization works with low-income schools across the city to build high-quality education, exposure, and inclusion for students on the autism spectrum and other high learning needs. Brain Bristle also works on training, awareness building and research.

Our Founder, Devangana Mishra, is also a writer and an artist.

Role Description

The Mar-Com Associate at Brain Bristle will support our storytelling, outreach, partnerships, collaborations and public engagement efforts. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about marketing, strategy and partnerships rooted in storytelling and impact.

We are looking for a curious, driven, and creative Marketing & Communications Associate to help share our work in interesting ways. This is a cross-functional role that touches everything from social media and writing to partnerships and events. If you care about meaningful work, the arts, education, inclusion, love communicating ideas, and want to grow alongside a purpose-driven organisation and Founder, this role is for you.

Communications & Storytelling

  • Write compelling content: articles, newsletters, impact reports, and organizational stories
  • Craft copy that reflects our voice: warm, informed, and human
  • Document and share stories with sensitivity and care

Social Media & Content

  • Manage and grow our presence across Instagram, LinkedIn, and other platforms
  • Plan and execute a consistent content calendar
  • Create engaging posts, reels, and graphics (basic design skills a plus)

Partnerships & Outreach

  • Support outreach to potential partners, collaborators, and sponsors
  • Help draft partnership proposals and follow-up communications
  • Track and report on collaboration outcomes and print / press wins

Events & Campaigns

  • Assist in planning and promoting events, workshops, and launches
  • Coordinate event communications: invites, social promotion, post-event write-ups
  • Support on-the-ground execution when needed

What We're Looking For

  • A recent graduate or early-career professional in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, Fine Arts, Literary Arts or a related field
  • Strong writing skills in English- clear, empathetic, and adaptable to different formats and audiences
  • Complete comfort with social media platforms and basic content creation
  • An organised, self-starter mindset — you can manage multiple tasks without being micromanaged
  • Interest in autism, neurodiversity, education, and the arts
  • Collaborative spirit and willingness to pitch in wherever needed in a small team

Bonus Points If You

  • Have experience or a personal connection with the arts/ writing and with education/ autism/ school based work.
  • Can design basic graphics (Canva, Adobe Express, or similar)
  • Have done freelance writing, college journalism, or social media management
  • Speak Hindi and English fluently
