Junior R&D Chemist (Organic Chemistry)

As a Junior R&D Chemist, you will be responsible for supporting organic synthesis and product development activities in a dynamic laboratory setting. Your role will include assisting in lab-scale reactions, purification processes, and ensuring accurate documentation in compliance with GMP and safety standards. The ideal candidate for this position should possess strong fundamentals in organic chemistry, practical experience in laboratory work, and a passion for process development and scale-up. Previous exposure to cosmetic, pharmaceutical, or fine chemical research would be beneficial.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in organic synthesis of cosmetic ingredients
• Supporting R&D experiments, lab-scale reactions, and optimization
• Performing raw material handling, weighing, and monitoring reactions
• Maintaining laboratory records, batch sheets, and SOP documentation
• Assisting in purification techniques such as filtration, extraction, drying, and crystallization
• Basic handling of analytical tools like TLC, pH, melting point, and UV as required
• Adhering to lab safety, GMP, and cleanliness standards

The qualifications required for this role are:

• M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in any R&D laboratory
• Strong fundamentals in organic chemistry
• Basic laboratory skills and proficiency in chemical handling
• Eagerness to learn process development and scale-up
• Good observation and documentation abilities
• Disciplined and safety-conscious mindset
• Experience in pharma/fine chemical R&D is a plus
• Exposure to peptides, actives, or specialty chemicals is a plus
