The ideal candidate combines deep industry knowledge with sharp editorial judgment, strong management skills, and a track record of delivering exclusive, market-moving stories.

We'll trust you to

  • Lead and motivate a team of reporters across North and South America, setting priorities and ensuring high-quality, real-time output.
  • Help define and execute editorial strategy for the sector, identifying major trends, risks, and opportunities across commodity markets and related industries
  • Drive breaking news and enterprise reporting, delivering scoops and in-depth stories that resonate with Bloomberg’s global audience.
  • Collaborate closely with other teams, including those covering energy and commodities in other regions and reporters in Washington.
  • Edit stories for clarity, accuracy, speed, and impact, maintaining Bloomberg’s standards of excellence.
  • Help the team to develop sources at senior levels across the industry.
  • Mentor and develop reporters, fostering a culture of ambition, collaboration, and accountability.

You'll need to have

  • At least five years of experience in financial or business journalism, ideally with some experience of commodities.
  • A proven ability to collaborate effectively.
