Bloomberg Television is looking for a highly motivated production assistant to our flagship political program, Balance of Power, based in Washington DC.
You will be responsible for monitoring top stories of key interest to our audience, finding key sound and graphics to help tell the stories in our programs, booking appropriate internal voices under deadline pressure, contributing to a daily program rundown, greeting our guests in our Washington bureau, working with anchors and supporting the live show in the control room.
You should have a broad interest in global news with a specialized focus on politics, finance and the economy.
You embrace challenges, are a self-starter, thrive in a fast-paced environment and are an effective and collegial communicator across a global newsroom.

- Join our daily show meetings and contribute to a discussion around the top political stories of the day (and how to cover them), focusing on the Bloomberg lane of global finance and the economy
- Support our anchors and reporters based in Washington with daily production help
- Be proactive - pitch ideas, be creative, bring your expertise to the table and elevate our content
- Work with internal voices in DC and other bureaus in the US
- Develop relationships within the business, finance communities globally
- Work well under pressure in a fast-paced newsroom environment
- Be able to pivot and react as news events evolve
You'll Need To Have
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Some experience producing for live TV in a live broadcast control room (professional or college level)
- Experience with ENPS or equivalent broadcast rundown systems and graphics
- Knowledge of and a keen interest in domestic and international politics
- Knowledge of and interest in business news, the economy and the financial markets
- Problem solving skills, with the ability to work under deadline pressure
- Flexibility with hours and start date
Salary Range = 35 - 40 USD Hourly
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
