Senior Executive in Customs & Logistics

As an Executive / Senior Executive in the Customs & Logistics Management department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and compliant import movement for manufacturing operations. Your responsibilities will include:

• **Import Customs Clearance Management:**
• Handling end-to-end import customs clearance activities for air and sea shipments.
• Coordinating with Customs House Agents (CHA) for timely Bill of Entry filing and cargo clearance.
• Verifying shipping documents such as Commercial Invoice, Packing List, AWB/BL, COO, Insurance documents, Duty exemption documents.
• Ensuring compliance with Customs regulations and company import procedures.
• **CHA & Forwarder Management:**
• Managing and coordinating with CHAs, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transporters.
• Monitoring shipment status from origin to final delivery.
• Ensuring timely customs clearance to avoid demurrage, detention, and line stoppages.
• Evaluating CHA and forwarder performance on cost, clearance lead time, and service quality.
• Supporting freight negotiation and logistics cost optimization initiatives.
• **Customs Compliance & Documentation:**
• Ensuring accurate HSN classification, duty calculation, and import documentation.
• Coordinating with internal teams for MOOWR, EPCG, FTA, SVB, or other special scheme compliances.
• Maintaining import records and supporting customs audit requirements.
• Handling coordination related to customs queries, assessments, and document submissions.
• Monitoring compliance related to ICEGATE, DGFT, and customs notifications.
• **Shipment Planning & Coordination:**
• Coordinating with Purchase, Planning, Warehouse, and Production teams for shipment priorities.
• Tracking critical shipments and updating stakeholders on delivery timelines.
• Arranging transportation and ensuring smooth material movement to the plant location.
• Supporting urgent shipment handling and escalation management.
• **Reporting & Cost Monitoring:**
• Preparing import MIS reports including Shipment tracking, Clearance lead time, Freight cost, Duty analysis, Pending BOE status.
• Monitoring logistics cost and identifying process improvement opportunities.

In this role, you will need to possess strong knowledge of import customs clearance procedures, CHA and freight forwarder management, customs documentation handling, understanding of Customs Act, ICEGATE, and DGFT procedures, freight and logistics coordination, ERP/SAP knowledge preferred, good communication and stakeholder management skills, and strong follow-up and problem-solving capability.
