Junior Accountant

Position Overview

The Junior Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities. This role focuses on transactional accuracy, reconciliation support, and assisting with the month-end close process in a fast-paced accounting environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process invoices, expense reports, and payments with accurate general ledger coding
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including vendor and customer communication
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
• Perform account and bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
• Maintain organized financial records and schedules
• Assist with internal and external audit requests by providing required documentation
• Monitor transactions and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
• Support ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 0-2+ years of accounting or finance experience (internship experience acceptable)
• Understanding of basic accounting principles (AP, AR, GL)
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs preferred)
• Experience with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar) is a plus
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a high-volume transactional environment
• Exposure to month-end close and reconciliations
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
