BC Hardwood – now in our 122nd year of business – supplies quality hardwood flooring and unparalleled service to homeowners and building professionals. Whether it’s a renovation, restoration or original creation, we customize solutions to meet the most demanding applications.
We are looking for a full-time individual who will be involved in light accounting duties and deliver excellent customer service as the receptionist in an office setting.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented team player who will be the first point of contact for visitors at the office (very few visitors), greeting them in a polite and well-spoken manner. You will also be assigned duties as required (i.e. organization of inbound and outbound mail, administrative work, and general clerical support, courier shipments).
Some of your responsibilities :
- Process vendor invoices, assign to expense accounts, match with PO and packing slip
- Payroll timesheet entry
- Follow up with customers for payment of balances
- Process and record customer payments
- Data entry: other light accounting duties
- Keep track and order office supplies
- Front desk reception duties such as directing the calls scheduling courier shipments.
Qualifications
· Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
· Ability to work well independently and within a team
- Professional phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude
- Ability to learn new tasks (full training provided)
- Excellent communication skills
· Solid understanding of accounting principles. Diploma/degree in Accounting preferred.
· At least 2 years of solid Accounting/Bookkeeping experience in Canada
· Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Construction industry experience is a strong asset
