Job Description
The Senior Policy Analyst (Analyst) plays an integral role in facilitating the development of regulatory policy and the implementation of an efficient, effective, and enforceable regulatory framework that protects the public interest in relation to those natural resource development matters that fall within the BCER’s mandate. The Analyst liaises with subject matter experts within the BCER and outside parties such as Legislative Counsel, ECS, First Nations, and stakeholders to facilitate development of regulatory policy and regulations set out by the BCER Board of Directors.
The Analyst will evaluate internal and external party proposals for changes to the BCER Board of Director’s regulations against government and BCER policy, and in light of the BCER’s operational capacity and needs. The position facilitates the assessment and development of policy options for the Energy Resource Activities Act (ERAA), the Geothermal Resources Act (GRA), related statutes and Cabinet regulations as required; and recommends a course of action that will influence the BCER’s overall mandate, goals, and strategic direction.

Office Location: Fort St John or Kelowna or Victoria
Salary: $83,312.49 – $94,991.51 – Permanent Full-Time, based on a 35-hour work week.
An additional 10.75% Job Family Market Multiplier will be added to the posted salary.
An additional 3% Location Allowance will be added to posted salary for employees based in northern location.
