Role Overview:
As a Senior Commercial Analyst at Barclays, you will play a key role in a big data and analytical focused team supporting Barclaycard Payments. Your responsibilities will include providing best-in-class analytics, delivering analysis to optimize profitability, supporting marketing activities, enhancing data capabilities, and being an ambassador for rigorous analytical techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide best-in-class analytics, quantitative and statistically significant actionable outcomes and insight to support the Barclays Payments strategic agenda.
- Deliver analysis to optimize the risk adjusted profitability of the business to support optimal recruitment & pricing of new customers & performance metrics.
- Support strategies to increase Barclaycards share of the market.
- Provide support to marketing activities including the measurement of performance against objectives and the ability to test and learn, to inform future activities.
- Develop & enhance the Data capabilities in a highly customer and client-centric way in both providing innovative and progressive products and services, and in partnering across DDnA to ensure their client and customer strategies are successfully achieved.
- Be an ambassador for rigorous analytical techniques across Barclays.
Qualifications Required:
- Years of analytical experience in marketing analytics, risk analytics or other quantitative/analytics field
- A track record of solving problems and creating opportunities with the use of data, using latest analytical and statistical tools ranging from SAS, SQL
- Ability to provide solutions for clients enhancing their experience, underpinned by a culture of collaboration, innovation and high performance.
- Experience of executing customer treatment strategies such as new account pricing or existing customer profit activities.
- Preferable (not mandatory) University degree level or higher qualification in a mathematical based subject or discipline
- Experience with big data manipulation tools: Hadoop, Spark, Impala, Hive, AWS Athena/Redshift
- Knowledge of latest data science techniques and the applicability to relevant business problems
