Senior Accountant - Controller (Remote)

We are hiring a full-time, REMOTE, a SENIOR ACCOUNTANT / CONTROLLER position. The job is Monday to Friday, full-time position offering competitive salary in Canadian dollars (CAD).

The ideal candidate will have integrity, professionalism and ability to handle confidential information, works well independently, is self motivating and has bookkeeping or accounting background.

Major responsibilities are, but not limited to:

· Monitor and reconcile tax installments, remittances and refunds

· Process weekly and monthly invoices, maintain general ledger accounts and financial statements

. Handle all accounts receivable, collections and accounts payable, billing

· Responsible for all data entry, reconciliations, IRS and Worker's Compensation reporting and remittances as well

· Responsible for all AR and AP

· Responsible for processing payroll

· Has an appropriate understanding of the tax code in Florida

Requirements

• Proven accounting experience (5+ years preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency with accounting software and Excel
• Physically based in Ontario, Canada
• Willing to work remotely

Education and Job Experience:

• Bookkeeping and bank reconciliations
• Intercompany and subcontractor payroll management
• Financial reporting and general accounting functions

Specific Skills:

• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
• Has experience in the field and can develop and implement systems and procedures to handle the job description
• Must have experience with computerized accounting
• Able to maintain tight deadlines
