Job Description

  • The procurement lead is responsible for leading Toronto procurement efforts to efficiently and effectively enable spend owner such as business unit and functional partners maximize the value they receive from suppliers to meet their objectives
  • Work with each business unit to lead centralized sourcing and procurement efforts,
  • Include working with the internal stakeholder from initial need identification to final goods or service delivery to meet stakeholder needs.
  • The process starts with demand management that then drives supply analysis/strategy, supplier identification, sourcing execution, contract negotiation, delivery planning and monitoring, purchase execution, and then ongoing performance management and improvement. Deliver cost savings opportunities to the organization, and assist in developing commodity strategy

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creation and management of short, mid, and long terms goals and objectives for all categories
  • Creation and improvement of best practice based processes
  • Management of procurement process relate activities
  • Identification and realization of cost-saving and cost reduction opportunities
  • Management of procurement systems
  • Management of procurement staff in and across sourcing, contracting, transactional purchasing, supplier management, and miscellaneous internal procurement support activities.
  • Analyze categories spend
  • Manage and monitor Supplier Performance, solve issues with suppliers if any
  • Develop and maintain supplier pool
  • Analyze and understand the cost drivers associated with each category/supplier
  • Benchmark current products across suppliers and identifying consolidation opportunity
  • Support on related projects if required

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years’ experience in procurement
  • Strong leadership skill
  • Team player at executive levels to collaborate with business units and functional partners
  • In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices
  • Strong negotiation skill to use for large commercial deals
  • Experience with modern sourcing and procurement systems
  • Strategic mindset and problem-solving skills

Preferred

  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Korean) and strong communication skills; Regular collaboration and management of Korean vendors

Additional Information

The salary range for this position is $90,300 -120,400 / year.
