Job Description
As a Senior Accountant within the Accounting & Statutory Compliance team at Autodesk, you will be responsible for a portfolio of legal entities, handling tasks such as accounting, annual statutory audit, annual local financial statements filing, tax accounting, and supporting merger & acquisition integration and deregistration. Your role involves planning, implementing, and maintaining an effective operational accounting and statutory compliance framework in line with company policies, accounting principles, and local regulations. Collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders, including the corporate accounting team, Tax, PTP, FBPs, external auditors, and outsourced accounting firms, is essential. You are expected to demonstrate independence, teamwork, accountability, business judgment, and excel in a collaborative environment. Strong planning, execution, interpersonal, and project management skills are crucial for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the timely preparation, review, and filing of local statutory financial statements for a portfolio of entities.
- Support or lead local statutory audit and tax requirements.
- Coordinate with outsourced accounting firms and internal department management on statutory audit questions and financial statements requirements.
- Provide technical support on accounting standards like IFRS and local statutory requirements impacting accounting operations.
- Offer accounting information to meet local and US GAAP tax requirements.
- Support external tax audits or investigations.
- Analyze and explain differences between US GAAP and Local GAAP.
- Facilitate, follow-up, and remediate weaknesses identified in statutory and tax audits.
- Collaborate with Corporate Accounting and outsourced firms to meet month-end financial close deadlines.
- Ensure reconciliation of US GAAP, local financial reports, and tax returns with accounting entries in the recording system (SAP).
- Support merger & acquisition integration and deregistration.
- Undertake ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
- 4+ years PQE practice and/or industry experience in finance/accounting.
- Qualified CPA, CA, or equivalent.
- Experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting, General Ledger, or Shared Service environment preferred.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and experience in an international, multi-currency environment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, SAP, and Excel.
- Strong organizational, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Independence, self-starting attitude, and results-oriented approach.
- Ability to influence others, build consensus, and resolve conflicts.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, prioritizing continuous improvement.
- Flexibility to support peak periods and work across different time zones.
