Job Description: Associate Professor – MCA Department
Job Title: Associate Professor – MCA
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Associate Professor for the MCA Department to teach postgraduate students, contribute to curriculum development, mentor students, and support academic excellence through research and institutional activities. The candidate should possess strong subject knowledge in computer applications and a passion for teaching.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Academic Delivery
- Teach MCA subjects such as Programming, Data Structures, DBMS, Computer Networks, Operating Systems, Software Engineering, AI, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, etc.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments, and assessments
- Deliver lectures, practical sessions, seminars, and workshops
- Use innovative teaching methodologies and digital learning tools
Student Mentoring
- Guide students in academic progress, projects, internships, and career development
- Supervise dissertations, mini-projects, and final-year projects
- Provide counseling and mentoring support when required
Research & Development
- Conduct research and publish papers in reputed journals/conferences
- Apply for funded research projects and grants
- Participate in FDPs, workshops, seminars, and conferences
Curriculum & Department Activities
- Support syllabus design, curriculum updates, and accreditation processes
- Participate in NAAC, NBA, AICTE, UGC, or university-related academic work
- Organize guest lectures, technical events, hackathons, and industrial visits
Administration
- Maintain attendance, internal marks, result analysis, and student records
- Participate in committees, admissions, examinations, and institutional duties
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Computer Applications / Computer Science / Relevant Discipline with excellent academic record
- Ph.D. in relevant field preferred / as per AICTE
- NET / SET qualification preferred where applicable
Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of teaching as per institutional or regulatory norms
- Prior experience in postgraduate teaching preferred
