Job Purpose

We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Technician to support continuous 24×7 operations of electrical systems at our rocket engine test facility. The role ensures high equipment availability, safe working conditions, and timely response to electrical breakdowns across all shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor electrical systems including panels, switchgear, motors, transformers, UPS, and lighting systems.
  • Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
  • Respond promptly to electrical faults and emergencies, minimizing downtime and operational risk.
  • Execute shift handover/takeover activities with accurate logbook entries and system status updates.
  • Enforce electrical safety standards, HSE compliance, and site operating procedures.
  • Carry out isolation, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and permit-to-work activities.
  • Monitor critical electrical parameters and report abnormalities to supervisors/engineers.
  • Support planned shutdowns, statutory inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping in electrical rooms, substations, and work areas.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, instrumentation, and operations teams during integrated maintenance activities.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma / ITI in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of O&M experience in 24×7 industrial, plant, or utility environments.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of electrical systems, fault response, and breakdown maintenance.
  • Familiarity with single-line diagrams (SLDs), electrical drawings, and O&M manuals.
  • Sound understanding of electrical safety practices, HSE compliance, and emergency response.
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights and emergency call-outs.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate effectively during shift handovers.
