Day Shift Supervisor– Plastic Manufacturing

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Shift Supervisor oversees and participates in the daily operations of the facility during the day shift. This role supervises, supports and trains plant team members in the areas of production, maintenance, health and safety, and quality control. The Shift Supervisor coordinates production requirements based on the production plan set by the Branch Manager or designate.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinates shift production activities with team members to provide superior customer service.
• Verifies daily production reports are being filled out correctly and completely.
• Ensures equipment is working efficiently and product meets required quality standards.
• Complies with and follows Company Health and Safety policies, procedures, practices and legislative standards.
• Provides training, coaching and development for production team members in areas of production, job function, health and safety and record keeping.
• Advise and report on necessary improvements and modification of equipment and machinery to correct inconsistencies and errors.

Qualifications

• 3 – 5 years of experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing setting.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing operations in HDPE, preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sound judgement and decision-making skills for production decision making purposes.
• A self-starter including initiative and self-confidence for leadership and self-motivation purposes.
• Effective coaching of production team members to reduce equipment breakdown and improve overall productivity.
