• Location: Downtown Toronto
• Employment Type: Full-Time (FTE)
• Experience: 5–6 years (more is preferred)

Job Overview

The primary focus of this role is to understand business information needs and provide timely, accurate, and reliable data insights to stakeholders. Over time, the role is expected to proactively identify opportunities and generate insights that may not be immediately visible to the business.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify business needs, define KPIs, and develop data-driven strategies.
• Lead data requirement discussions and establish structured processes for capturing data exchange requirements across systems.
• Analyze and structure data findings, delivering insights and presentations to stakeholders at all levels.
• Apply machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques to extract insights from large datasets.
• Explore new data sources, tools, and methodologies to enhance predictive modeling.
• Develop and deploy data-driven solutions to improve business processes and decision-making.
• Translate business problems into analytical solutions in collaboration with domain experts.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities.
• Validate and monitor model performance for accuracy and scalability.
• Communicate technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ensure timely delivery of project milestones.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Python (data analysis, modeling, manipulation)
• Strong knowledge of statistical methods (hypothesis testing, regression, predictive modeling)
• Experience with ML frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn
• Data visualization: Matplotlib, Seaborn, ggplot2
• Libraries: Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn
• SQL and database management
• Big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Hive
• Data preprocessing: cleaning, feature engineering, dimensionality reduction
• Version control: Git
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
• Experience in the Payments industry (preferred, not mandatory)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High level of integrity and ethics
