We are seeking our next <strong>Field Test Operator </strong>to join the Dive-XL Field Operations team. In this role, you will support onshore and offshore test events to ensure vehicle preparedness, and leverage your technical expertise to operate our cutting-edge system in some of the most demanding and dynamic conditions. </p> <h3>WHAT YOU'LL DO</h3> <ul> <li>Prepare for field deployments by identifying, sourcing and kitting AUV (Autonomous Undersea Vehicle) test and support equipment</li> <li>Conduct daily AUV inspections and system checks before and after operations</li> <li>Execute AUV launch and recovery evolutions, support day-to-day test operations, and assist in daily operations and test reports</li> <li>Perform maintenance, repair and upgrades of AUVs in the field</li> <li>Support development, review and trials of Standard Operating Procedures and user documentation for all aspects of AUV operations</li> <li>Assist with the preparation of risk assessments for test and related operations, identifying and implementing mitigations</li> </ul> <h3>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</h3> <ul> <li>2+ years of hands-on experience in working with tools to assemble, repair, and maintain technical hardware in a maritime environment.</li> <li>Naturally inquisitive, able to independently research and learn new technical components or concepts.</li> <li>Experience collaborating cross functionally working towards a common goal.</li> <li>Basic proficiency with Microsoft Suite related computer applications (Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, etc.)</li> <li>Highly polished communication skills in order to best work with teams across time zones.</li> <li>Willingness to travel up to ~50%, including significant time spent offshore on vessels of all sizes.</li> <li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.</li> <li>Ability to be in office in Costa Mesa, CA daily.</li> <li>Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.</li> </ul> <h3>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</h3> <ul> <li>Commercial maritime experience and/or military background with exposure to autonomous systems</li> <li>Experience with heavy machinery and tooling such as forklifts, cranes, etc.</li> <li>Ability to master a technical system and support it in austere environments.
