Job Title: Community Event Coordinator

Start Date: July 2, 2026

End Date: Aug 26, 2026

Duration: 8 weeks

Salary: $18.5 per hour

Hours per week: 35

Work schedule:

This role requires full day work on both Saturday and Sunday, with two consecutive days off during the week. Work schedule can be discussed and worked out prior to starting date. A tentative schedule may look like this:

· Wednesday: 10am – 5:30pm

· Thursday: 10am – 5:30pm

· Friday: 10am – 5:30pm

· Saturday: 10am – 5:30pm (Mandatory)

· Sunday: 8:30am – 4pm (Mandatory)

Who we are:

Amazing Grace Christian Fellowship (AGCF) is a registered non‑profit in British Columbia supporting an evangelical Christian congregation and serving the wider community. We offer programs that foster spiritual growth, connection, and support for people of all ages. Our activities include weekly church services; children’s programs and seasonal activity camps; Tuesday‑night youth gatherings and events; life groups and one‑on‑one mentorship; community outreach and seasonal community events; monthly worship nights; a full music ministry with vocalists and instrumentalists; and active social media outreach on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, including live‑streamed services.

What’s the role:

  • Plan, organize, and execute community events that foster fellowship, connection, and relationship building among members.
  • Develop event concepts and schedules in alignment with the church’s mission and community needs.
  • Design and facilitate inclusive events that provide vulnerable, underserved, and in‑need populations with a safe space to gather, connect, access support, and build community.
  • Coordinate logistics including venue booking, setup, equipment, catering, and transportation.
  • Collaborate with staff, volunteers, social media team, media tech teams to ensure smooth event delivery and shared ownership.
  • Promote events through digital and traditional channels, including website, social media, groups and community announcements.
  • Conduct outreach to the general public, inviting community members to participate our community events
  • Manage event budgets and resources, ensuring cost-effective planning and stewardship.
  • Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers to support event activities and hospitality.
  • Facilitate welcoming, inclusive environments that encourage participation from diverse groups and backgrounds.
  • Evaluate event outcomes by gathering feedback and attendance data to improve future programming.

What do we look for in a candidate:

  • Passion for community events, communications, or working with people.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with diverse community members.
  • Ability to stay organized, follow instructions, and complete tasks reliably.
  • Willingness to learn event planning, logistics, outreach, and teamwork.
  • Comfort using basic digital tools (email, documents, social media) or willingness to learn.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to creating welcoming, inclusive spaces.
