Job Description: The Respiratory Therapy program of Algonquin College is looking for a passionate individual to contribute their expertise as a part-time Professor of our Pulmonary Diagnostics - Theory course in the Spring/Summer 2026 term. This course introduces the principles and techniques utilized in Pulmonary Function Diagnostics. Time: Tuesdays, 17:00-19:00, May 12 to August 18, 2026 Course delivery: 2 hours in-person, Algonquin College Wage: $80.63 - $139.88, established in terms of relevant educational qualifications and experience. Under the direction of the Academic Chair, the part-time Professor is responsible for facilitating and guiding learning and providing an effective learning environment for all students within course lectures. The professional responsibilities involve the teaching of assigned courses, including: Delivery of regularly scheduled instruction in the Spring/Summer 2026 term; Ensuring student awareness of course learning outcomes and evaluation techniques; Providing tutoring and academic advising for students both in and out of class; Providing a learning environment which makes effective use of available resources including educational technologies; Evaluating student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the student’s work within assigned courses; The development and creation of a learning environment that is conducive to success for all students. Required Qualifications Registered with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (with no restrictions) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences or related field of study is preferred; Minimum of 5 years of recent work experience as a respiratory therapist in a health care environment; Minimum 1 year of teaching experience including preceptorship experience, preferably in a post-secondary setting; Demonstrated knowledge of student success strategies in a post-secondary setting; Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of educational technologies; Highly effective communication, presentation, and organizational skills; A clear commitment to supporting learner success.
