Job Title: Assistant Manager – Contracts
Job Summary
The Assistant Manager – Contracts will be responsible for managing end-to-end contract administration for real estate projects, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and monitoring contracts with contractors, vendors, and consultants. The role ensures legal, commercial, and operational compliance while safeguarding the company’s interests.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and manage contracts for contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants
- Evaluate tender documents, BOQs, and technical specifications
- Support in vendor finalization, negotiations, and contract awards
- Ensure all contracts comply with legal, commercial, and company policies
- Monitor contract execution, obligations, and timelines
- Handle contract variations, amendments, and change orders
- Verify contractor bills as per contract terms and milestones
- Identify risks in contracts and recommend mitigation strategies
- Maintain proper documentation and contract records
- Coordinate with legal, procurement, and project teams
- Ensure dispute resolution and claims management if required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management / Law / related field
- 3–6 years of experience in contracts management within real estate or construction industry
Key Skills
- Strong knowledge of contract law, tendering, and procurement processes
- Experience in drafting and reviewing construction contracts
- Understanding of BOQ, rate analysis, and billing processes
- Negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Attention to detail and risk assessment ability
- Good communication and documentation skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with real estate developers (builder lobby exposure preferred)
- Familiarity with FIDIC or standard construction contract formats
- Ability to manage multiple projects/contracts simultaneously
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) or Construction Management
- Diploma in Civil Engineering (with relevant experience can also be considered)
Experience
- 5–8years of experience in contracts management within the real estate / construction industry
- Experience in handling contractor agreements, tendering, and billing processes
