Job Description

As an Apartment Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for preparing vacant apartment units for new residents, ensuring each unit meets the highest quality and safety standards. Your tasks will include performing interior painting, repairing and replacing drywall, and handling minor carpentry work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vacant apartment units for new residents.
• Perform interior painting, including walls, ceilings, trim, and touch-ups.
• Repair and replace drywall, including patching holes, smoothing, and finishing.
• Replace fixtures, hardware, blinds, and minor carpentry items.
• Ensure apartments meet quality and safety standards prior to move-in.

Essential Skills

• Experience in maintenance and apartment turnovers.
• Proficiency in drywall repair and patching.
• Ability to perform electrical installations and fixes.
• Skill in appliance maintenance and repair.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Expertise in painting and drywall repairs.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and installations.

Work Environment

You will be working in a fast-paced environment, primarily focused on apartment turnovers. Occasionally, you will respond to tenant work orders. The work setting is a 270+ unit apartment building in Washington DC, where precision and speed are essential.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, DC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
