Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Industry: Trade Association / Thinktank

Location (city, state): Washington, DC (Hybrid)

Assignment Type: Contract | ~3 months

Pay: $30.00 - $34.00 / Per Hour depending on experience

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week

Job Description

We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support the HR department within day-to-day HR operations. This role assists with various functions across HR including recruitment, benefits administration, employee records management, HRIS management, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day employee relations by addressing questions, resolving workplace concerns, and supporting a positive, compliant work environment
  • Administer HR programs and processes such as onboarding, offboarding, benefits enrollment, and maintaining accurate employee records
  • Support recruitment efforts by coordinating interviews, screening candidates, and partnering with hiring managers throughout the hiring process
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies by maintaining documentation, assisting with audits, and staying current on employment laws
  • Assist with performance management, employee engagement initiatives, and training programs to support overall team development and retention

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of HR Generalist experience
  • Proven experience within overall HR operations, benefits administration, recruitment, payroll, HRIS management, and compliance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS systems (ideally ADP Workforce Now), and ATS systems
  • Strong attention to detail, process-driven, collaborative, proactive
  • Bachelor’s degree required; SHRM certification preferred
