Project Role Description : Designs, builds, tests, and deploys cloud application solutions that integrate cloud and non-cloud infrastructure. Can deploy infrastructure and platform environments, creates a proof of architecture to test architecture viability, security and performance.

Summary
As an AWS-focused Cloud Engineer, you are responsible for
designing, implementing, and operating secure, scalable,
and reliable AWS cloud environments within the cloud
landing zone and wider infrastructure ecosystem. You
provide technical leadership, ensure adherence to cloud
best practices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams
to optimize cloud operations, cost efficiency, and
compliance.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain AWS cloud environments
that meet organizational requirements for scalability,
performance, reliability, and security.
Architect AWS-based solutions using services such as
EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, API Gateway, S3,
CloudFront, and advanced networking components.
Implement AWS security and compliance controls,
including IAM, SCPs, KMS, encryption, Secrets Manager,
CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and AWS Organizations
governance.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using
Terraform to enable automated, consistent, and
repeatable environment provisioning.
Optimize cloud performance and cost by applying best
practices for autoscaling, caching, right-sizing, tagging,
and cost monitoring using AWS Cost Explorer/Budgets.
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot AWS workloads
using a centralized observability solution using the LGTM
stack.
Support containerized and serverless workloads,
including managing EKS clusters, ECS/Fargate
deployments, and Lambda-based architectures.
Lead incident response for cloud-related issues,
ensuring timely resolution and root-cause analysis.
Create and maintain accurate, up-to-date
documentation for architectures, operational
procedures, and cloud governance guidelines.
Collaborate with developers, architects, cybersecurity
teams, and product owners to enable cloud-native
solution delivery.
Professional & Technical Skills:
Expert-level knowledge of AWS and hands-on
experience with core and advanced services (compute,
networking, storage, IAM, container and serverless
services, CI/CD, and monitoring).
Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, primarily
with Terraform/Terr grunt or Open Tofu
Scripting and automation experience in Python or Bash
for orchestration, tooling, and operational automation.
Deep understanding of AWS networking, including VPC
design, subnets, routing, NACLs, security groups,
VPN/Direct Connect, private/hybrid connectivity, and
network security patterns.
Cloud security expertise, including IAM design, least
privilege models, KMS, encryption strategies,
compliance requirements, and vulnerability
management on AWS.
Experience operating container platforms, such as
Amazon EKS or ECS, including cluster design,
networking, scaling, observability, and secure operation.
Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools,
preferably Prometheus/Grafana but also CloudWatch,
CloudTrail, X-Ray, or equivalent.
Solid troubleshooting and incident-management skills,
including analyzing logs, metrics, distributed systems,
and multi-service AWS environments.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitLab CI, or
AWS Code Pipeline/Code Build, GitHub Actions, or
similar).
Strong documentation and communication skills in
English.
