Role Purpose: To strategically manage and strengthen the organization’s media positioning across print, television, and digital platforms by leveraging deep relationships with senior editorial leadership. The role will drive proactive reputation building, narrative shaping, and crisis communications for one of India’s most respected financial institutions. This is a strategic influence role — not a conventional PR execution position.
Roles and Responsibilities: A. Strategic Media Positioning
- Develop and execute a long-term media engagement strategy.
- Shape the institutional narrative in alignment with regulatory developments and business priorities.
- Secure high-impact interviews, opinion pieces, and leadership commentary. B. Editorial Relationship Management
- Build and maintain direct relationships with:
- Editors-in-Chief
- Managing Editors
- Bureau Chiefs
- Senior Financial Journalists
- Act as a trusted interface between newsroom leadership and the organization. C. Leadership Visibility
- Position Chairman, MD & senior leadership as authoritative voices in capital markets.
- Secure keynote and panel participation in financial forums and policy discussions. D. Reputation & Crisis Management
- Anticipate potential media risks related to regulatory, compliance, or market-sensitive developments.
- Coordinate media responses with Legal, Compliance, and Leadership.
- Manage crisis communication strategy when required. E. Media Intelligence
- Monitor market perception and competitor positioning.
- Provide strategic news insights to leadership.
Qualification required:
10–18 years in financial journalism, capital markets reporting, or business broadcasting.
- Currently / previously at Associate Editor, Senior Editor, 2nd to Bureau Chief, or equivalent level.
- Experience covering stock exchanges, SEBI, capital markets, BFSI, or financial policy beats.
- Senior journalist from Tier-1 business publication or financial TV channel.
- Experience transitioning from journalism to corporate strategy or communications is desirable.
- Strong understanding of capital markets regulations and ecosystem stakeholders
