Job Description

As a Cost Accountant at our company, you will be responsible for analyzing and tracking the costs associated with manufacturing processes, including direct materials, direct labor, and manufacturing overhead. Your role will involve collecting and interpreting cost data, conducting variance analysis, and providing insights to management to improve cost efficiency and identify areas for optimization within production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cost analysis by analyzing and interpreting cost data related to production activities such as raw materials, labor, and overhead to identify cost variances between actual and standard costs.
  • Investigate the reasons behind cost variances, identifying potential issues in production processes, and proposing corrective actions.
  • Monitor and reconcile inventory levels to ensure accurate costing of finished goods and work-in-progress.
  • Prepare customer invoices and customer-specific documentations, ensuring timely delivery of goods as promised.
  • Generate detailed inventory product selling lists and cost reports for management, including summaries of production costs, cost breakdowns by product line, and variance analysis reports.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Handle vendor payments and maintain up-to-date accounts receivable.
  • Maintain bookkeeping records to be submitted to the Tax Accountant quarterly.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management as per business needs.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Qualified training in fields pertinent to job responsibilities.
  • Minimum 4 years of job experience in related field, including experience working inside a manufacturing facility and using QuickBooks Build Assembly Module.
  • Good MS Excel skills and analytical numeracy skills.
  • Excellent command of written and verbal business English.
  • Ability to handle fast turnarounds and tight deadlines.
  • Experience using project management tools.
  • Technologically savvy with a typing speed of 45 WPM.
