Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Methods Engineer to support daily aircraft manufacturing and delivery activities. This role plays a critical part in defining, improving, and supporting manufacturing processes for aircraft structures, systems, and assemblies, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily aircraft manufacturing activities to meet production and delivery objectives.
  • Create, revise, and maintain manufacturing work instructions within the ERP system, defining parts, build sequences, tooling, materials, and special processes.
  • Develop Assembly Workbooks and Production Visual Aids outlining assembly requirements and special instructions for structural, systems, and electrical installations.
  • Perform Methods Readiness to prepare manufacturing functions for production start, supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and production ramp‑up.
  • Define and specify tooling, fixtures, jigs, and special equipment required for aircraft manufacturing and assembly.
  • Create and update supplemental planning documentation to fully define aircraft assembly and sub‑assembly build sequences.
  • Record and submit Engineering Change Requests (CRs) related to build processes, design improvements, tooling, and Make vs. Buy decisions.
  • Investigate manufacturing non‑conformances and collaborate cross‑functionally to perform root cause analysis using structured methodologies (e.g., RCCA, 5‑Why, Fishbone).
  • Support Planning with execution of Non‑Conformance Report (NCR) dispositions, including preparation of discrepancy and shop order instructions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, audits, and process optimization efforts.

Education & Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
  • An equivalent combination of education and progressive hands‑on experience will be considered (e.g., Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Structures Technician, Aircraft Assembler).

Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in a large component manufacturing environment, preferably within the aerospace industry.
  • Previous experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Methods Engineering, or major aerostructures and/or final assembly environments.
  • Hands‑on exposure to avionics, systems, and structural assemblies is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace fabrication, aircraft assembly processes, and manufacturing principles.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Advanced knowledge of CATIA V5.
  • Intermediate ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft systems, including hydraulic, avionics, fuel, structures, and aircraft assembly.
