General Labourer - (Excavation & Grading)

General Laborers required to carry out excavation or grading work. Must have 1-2 years of previous experience shoveling, spreading, or raking stone or hot mix asphalt and along with other general duties associated with excavation or grading work.

Must be a team player, follow safety protocols and follow all company safety polices.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

• Experience with grading, excavation, road work, and asphalt paving and/or other general construction an asset
• Proficiency in working with hand tools
• Able to lift and move 40lbs or more
• Must have reliable transportation
• Knowledge of safety rules, instructions, and policies.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
• Strong verbal and listening communication skills
• Time management skills
• Must demonstrate the following personal attributes: honest and trustworthy, respectful, flexible, and have good work ethics.

Job Responsibilities

· Complete all required task on job site as per assign by the crew foreman

· Load, unload and transport construction materials

· Level granular material to fine grade as per specifications

· Pave and rake Stone, Asphalt and/or finish Concrete

· Clean, pile and remove excess materials

· Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites

· Direct traffic at or near construction sites (Traffic Control/Flagging)

· Safe operation, cleaning, and maintenance of hand tools, power tools and machinery

· Assist in the completion of Iron Adjustment

· Assist in excavation project/Underground

· Ability to work with small crews

· Travel to jobsites as required

· Working around heavy equipment

• Assist heavy equipment operators, spotting of trucks and other heavy equipment
• Manual labor including shoveling, sweeping, raking
