Responsibilities Analysts on our platform will be trained to evaluate opportunities across the entire capital structure, including equity and debt. The responsibilities of the position include: Source new investment opportunities by representing Expansion Capital in networking, direct outreach, and other externally facing capacities Perform due diligence on investment opportunities, including financial modeling, industry research, market research, and developing a deep understanding of customers and competition Assist in supporting support portfolio companies post-investment This position is a two-to-three-year role, with Analysts moving to either other investment, corporate development, or operating roles after their program with Expansion Capital. However, this opportunity does have the potential to evolve into a long-term role for exceptionally high-performing Analysts. Qualifications Superior academic and performance record One to two years of investment banking or other relevant finance experience (growth equity, venture capital, private equity, private credit, or other direct investing roles). Software industry coverage experience preferred, but all relevant industry coverage experience (e.g., technology, consumer, healthcare) will be considered Strong knowledge of accounting, and financial statement analysis. Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $100,000 and $150,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
