<h2><strong>Position Summary</strong></h2> <p>A rapidly growing company is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, validation, and improvement of board-level hardware for EV charging equipment (EVSE). This role is focused on practical electrical design work including schematic capture, component selection, prototype bring-up, debugging, and compliance-driven product development.</p> <p>The ideal candidate has hands-on experience developing electronic hardware for commercial or industrial products and is comfortable working across embedded control hardware, interfaces, sensing, protection, and power-related circuits. Experience with EV charging equipment, EMI/EMC mitigation, and UL or other regulatory compliance is strongly preferred. Familiarity with J1772 and ISO 15118 is a plus.</p> <h2><strong>Responsibilities</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Design and support board-level electrical hardware for EV charging systems.</li> <li>Develop specifications, schematics, and component selections; support PCB layout review.</li> <li>Bring up, validate, characterize, and debug prototype hardware.</li> <li>Troubleshoot analog, digital, mixed-signal, and embedded interface circuits.</li> <li>Define hardware interfaces and resolve system-level issues in collaboration with firmware and software teams.</li> <li>Maintain BOMs and support component sourcing and design updates.</li> <li>Validate and troubleshoot hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, electronic loads, meters, and spectrum analyzers.</li> <li>Mitigate EMI/EMC issues through filtering, grounding, shielding, and layout review.</li> <li>Support UL and regulatory compliance efforts, including design changes driven by certification testing.</li> <li>Coordinate with manufacturers, vendors, and external test labs during prototype and production builds.</li> <li>Document design revisions, test results, and engineering changes.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.</li> <li>Hands-on experience in board-level design for commercial or industrial electronic products.</li> <li>Proficiency in schematic capture, component selection, prototype bring-up, and hardware debugging.</li> <li>Experience with analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits.</li> <li>Familiarity with interfaces such as SPI, I2C, CAN, Modbus, or Ethernet.</li> <li>Comfortable with standard lab equipment for validation and troubleshooting.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Experience with EVSE or EV charging products.</li> <li>Experience with EMI/EMC troubleshooting and UL or other regulatory compliance.</li> <li>Familiarity with AC-powered systems, power electronics, relays, sensing, isolation, and protection circuits.</li> <li>Familiarity with J1772 and ISO 15118.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Why Join</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Be part of a dynamic and fast-growing company</li> <li>Competitive Salary</li> <li>Benefits Package includes:</li> <ul> <li>Medical, Dental and Vision insurance</li> <li>Paid Holidays</li> <li>Paid Time Off</li> <li>Ability to Participate in Electric Vehicle Incentive Program</li> <li>Ability to Participate in Company 401K Plan with match</li> <li>Quarterly Mental Health Days</li> <li>Employee Educational Reimbursement</li> </ul> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p></p> <p>Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills, but will sit in a range of $105,000 - $130,000</p> <p></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The company is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) and offers a remote-friendly work environment with benefits and the opportunity for personal growth as well as advancement within the company.</p> <h2><strong>Engagement Structure</strong></h2> <p>This role begins as a 1099 independent contractor engagement for up to three (3) months, with the intention of converting to a permanent, full-time position based on mutual fit and performance during the contract period.
