Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Solar Designer role based in New Delhi, with a salary of up to 45k (subject to experience and company policies). The Solar Designer will be responsible for designing rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems, preparing detailed layouts, single-line diagrams, and system configurations using relevant design and CAD tools. The role includes conducting site assessments, analyzing roof structures and shading, estimating system capacity, and performing basic energy yield calculations. The Solar Designer will prepare technical proposals, bill of materials, and cost estimates, while coordinating with sales, engineering, and installation teams to ensure designs are accurate, safe, and compliant with applicable codes and standards. The position also involves maintaining design documentation, updating drawings based on feedback, and supporting project execution from concept through installation and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Technical design capabilities in solar PV, including system sizing, layout planning, and basic electrical design for rooftop and ground-mounted systems.
• Proficiency with design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar), and familiarity with solar simulation or PV design tools (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope, or equivalents) is highly preferred.
• Understanding of relevant electrical and safety standards, local regulations, and best practices for solar installations, including DC/AC fundamentals and component selection.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills for load calculations, energy yield estimation, and preparation of bills of materials and cost estimates.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with sales, engineering, and project execution teams, and to present technical information clearly.
• Attention to detail, ability to interpret technical drawings, and strong documentation and record-keeping habits.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, renewable energy, or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
• Prior experience or internship in solar design or renewable energy projects is an advantage, but motivated early-career candidates with relevant technical education are encouraged to apply.
