Freight Coordinator

The Freight Coordinator is responsible for managing and tracking shipments to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of goods. This role serves as a key point of contact between customers, drivers, and internal teams, helping ensure daily freight operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule and coordinate shipments with drivers and customers
• Track and monitor freight from pickup through delivery
• Communicate shipment status updates and proactively resolve delays or issues
• Prepare and process shipping documents, invoices, and rate confirmations
• Maintain accurate shipment records in transportation management systems
• Verify freight rates and assist with cost control efforts

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with TMS systems preferred, but not mandatory
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Prior logistics or transportation experience is a plus

This role requires strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and the ability to build productive working relationships with drivers, customers, and team members. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and able to stay organized while managing multiple shipments and priorities throughout the day.
