As a Network Operations and Support Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for the following key responsibilities:
- Configuration and administration of network infrastructure within defined SLAs.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting as a Subject Matter Expert at L3 level in Network Administration, specializing in at least two of the following areas: Routing, Switching, and Network Security (Firewalls).
- Demonstrating at least an L2 level of expertise in Network Administration in Load Balancing and WAN Accelerators.
- Participating in the design of technical solutions when required, collaborating with Architects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Determining and resolving problems within SLAs.
- Ensuring high quality deliverables such as clean and detailed design documents, Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), trackers, etc.
- Troubleshooting tasks with a proper perspective and keeping the Shift Lead/Network Lead informed of task progress, issues, and status.
- Acquiring new skills, staying updated, and taking ownership of tasks.
- Promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Resolving day-to-day operational issues, incidents, service requests, and project tasks.
- Responding to and resolving escalated incidents, problems, or outages, and accurately reporting and documenting solutions.
- Leading and owning the resolution of complex major technical issues in collaboration with various groups on a 24/7 basis.
- Troubleshooting complex network issues independently and installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting various networking devices such as Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and UTMs.
- Utilizing various performance and monitoring tools to troubleshoot network performance issues.
- Creating configurations from scratch and reviewing and publishing availability and capacity analysis reports for the network infrastructure.
- Using monitoring tools during maintenance activities to suppress alerts and collect information for troubleshooting.
- Developing, reviewing, updating, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures.
- Performing firmware or OS upgrades and patching of networking devices.
- Providing senior-level support in the networking area and identifying and implementing Service Improvement Plans.
- Preparing root cause analysis reports and training and mentoring peers and juniors in the team.
- Validating the quality of work performed by peers and juniors and reviewing shift handovers between L2 Engineers.
- Participating in technical team activities during Change Advisory Board (CAB) reviews, projects, and incidents.
- Conducting daily system monitoring to verify the integrity and availability of all networking devices and network services.
