We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper with strong accounting knowledge to manage day-to-day financial transactions and support the finance function. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with bookkeeping, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to maintain accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update financial records including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations on a regular basis
• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions
• Process invoices, payments, and follow up on outstanding receivables
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries
• Support preparation of Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and cash flow reports
• Ensure accurate cost allocation and expense tracking
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
• Maintain compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and internal stakeholders
• Handle payroll support (if required)

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, MYOB, or similar
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.)
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in multi-entity or multi-location businesses
• Understanding of GST, BAS, and Australian compliance requirements
• Exposure to budget vs actual reporting and financial analysis
