Role Overview
The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for end-to-end management of procurement, inventory, logistics, vendor relations, and compliance. The role demands strategic planning, cost optimization, and seamless coordination across departments to ensure timely availability of materials, efficient dispatch, and accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement & Vendor Management
- Ensure timely release and approval of Purchase Orders (POs) as per MRP.
- Identify, develop, and evaluate reliable vendors.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and credit terms.
2. Material Planning & Control
- Prepare monthly Material Requirement Plans (MRP).
- Maintain safety stock for critical items.
3. Inventory & Store Operations
- Oversee receipt, inspection, and GRN entry.
- Ensure FIFO/LIFO compliance and high stock accuracy.
- Conduct quarterly physical verification with Accounts.
- Implement barcode/bin systems and proper storage for sensitive items.
- Monitor scrap/rejection disposal.
4. Logistics & Dispatch
- Plan dispatch schedules with Sales & Production.
- Optimize transport mode and freight costs.
- Track consignments till delivery and handle transit claims.
5. System & Data Accuracy
- Ensure ERP entries (POs, GRNs, issues) within 24 hours.
- Train team on ERP usage and reconcile ERP vs. physical stock.
- Generate automated reports and coordinate with IT/ERP support
6. Cost Control & Budget
- Achieve cost-saving targets through negotiation and efficiency.
- Control logistics, packaging, and inventory costs.
- Monitor procurement variance and scrap recovery.
- Implement waste reduction initiatives.
7. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure import/export, GST, excise documentation compliance.
- Maintain PO files with GRN, invoices, and certificates.
- Adhere to internal audit & ISO requirements.
8. Team Management & Development
- Define roles, KRAs, and conduct monthly reviews.
- Train team in ERP, communication, and safety norms.
9. Cross-Department Coordination
- Coordinate with Production, Sales, Accounts, and Quality for smooth operations.
10. Reporting & Review
- Submit weekly MIS (pending POs, stock summary, dispatch summary, vendor payments, cost savings).
- Prepare monthly SCM reviews and report deviations with corrective actions.
11. Continuous Improvement & Risk Management
- Identify critical suppliers and develop alternatives.
- Implement preventive actions for supply interruptions.
- Drive process improvements and improve service level.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.
- 8-10 years of experience in procurement, logistics, and inventory management.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems and supply chain digitization.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and cost-control skills.
- Strong leadership, team development, and cross-functional coordination abilities.
- Knowledge of statutory compliance (GST, import/export, ISO).
Pay: ₹1,200,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
