About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Quality Analyst to join our IBM FutureNow Center in Bedford, Nova Scotia, or Fredericton, New Brunswick. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data within the property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry, specifically focusing on automobile insurance in Canada. As part of our team, you will collaborate with insurers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to analyze, cleanse, and improve data quality standards. Your expertise will support decision-making processes, enhance industry data analysis capabilities, and promote a culture of data-driven excellence. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to large-scale transformation initiatives, leveraging your analytical skills and industry knowledge to impact the insurance sector positively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
• Experience in the Property & Casualty - Automobile Insurance industry in Canada
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze and interpret complex datasets
• Knowledge of insurance operations, processes, and data requirements within the P&C industry
• Understanding of industry regulations, data management frameworks, and data governance practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders
• Proactive mindset with problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Familiarity with data cleansing techniques, data quality metrics, and automation tools

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed analysis of datasets to identify errors, inconsistencies, and gaps in data quality
• Implement data cleansing and validation techniques to enhance data accuracy, completeness, and consistency
• Collaborate with insurers and internal teams to understand data quality requirements and establish performance benchmarks
• Monitor data quality trends, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate issues
• Communicate findings and insights effectively to diverse audiences, translating technical concepts into understandable language
• Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to data quality in the P&C insurance industry
• Continuously evaluate and improve data quality processes, methodologies, and tools, including automation opportunities
• Assist in developing and maintaining data governance policies and standards
• Support industry-wide data analysis initiatives to improve decision-making and operational efficiency
