Job Description

Winpak is hiring a Quality Control Inspector based in Winnipeg, Manitoba to support our Quality Team.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to play a key role in maintaining product quality. Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, this position partners closely with production to identify, communicate, and resolve quality issues to minimize defects and ensure consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and document inspections and testing of production samples in accordance with established procedures.
  • Accurately record and escalate all quality issues, including non-conformance reports (NCRs), deviations, and OOT calibration findings.
  • Identify and report non-conforming products; update inventory status to prevent unintended use.
  • Inspect raw materials, customer returns, and hold materials as required.
  • Conduct additional testing (e.g., air, temperature, humidity, ozone) and report any issues.
  • Inspect trial products based on R&D requirements.
  • Calibrate and verify inspection and testing equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
  • Complete, process, and maintain accurate inspection and testing documentation.
  • Support the development and revision of standard operating procedures and forms.
  • Train and support other Quality Control Inspectors and assist Quality Technicians as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, ISO 9001, and SQF standards while promoting teamwork and communication.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Equivalent combination of relevant post-secondary education and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a quality control role is required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work 8-hour rotating shifts, including days, afternoons, and nights.
  • 1+ years of experience with calibration of inspection and testing equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access.
  • 1+ years of experience writing reports.
  • 2+ years of experience working under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Post-secondary education in a science field or recognized Quality Control program preferred

Additional Information:

  • This position is 100% onsite located in Murray Industrial Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
  • There is limited bus access to this location.
