Position Overview
Reporting to the Operational Lead, Mental Health Services, the Lead, Mental Health Integrated Services will provide clinical oversight and direction to staff in the integrated delivery of mental health services leading health services staff to embrace and adopt integrated, patient-centered care pathways and service delivery models. As the service area focuses on supporting excellent in the delivery of high-quality clinical services, the position will support daily service delivery operations, monitor and implementation of quality, patient safety and performance improvement initiatives with service staff and system partners. Working in concert with Mental Health Centralized Services and Community Area site/service leadership the Lead has responsibility in the areas of:
- Service delivery operational oversight for an assigned service portfolio.
- Staff engagement initiatives to support an effective, engaged, and motivated workforce.
- Supporting the operational goals and objectives of the WRHA as outlined within the yearly operational plan Leadership and oversight in the implementation of clinical service standards in collaboration with Shared Health Manitoba, sites and service providers.
- Overseeing the effective information management systems to guide effective planning and implementation of change and sustainability.
Titles and responsibilities may change over time related to changes within the Health System Transformation process currently underway. Guided by Shared Health’s Clinical Preventive Services Plan, the position will support the system transformation with a focus on maintaining effective service delivery and continuous quality and performance improvement.
Experience
- Minimum of five years in a leadership role within the mental health setting (preferably middle management) required.
- Minimum of five years related clinical experience in mental health.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline required.
- Master’s degree in relevant area is required.
A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Maintain and provide proof of active registration in good standing with an associated regulatory body as appropriate.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
Qualifications And Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge and advanced skills required to identify, develop and improve areas of clinical service and provide operational oversight and direction within the continuum of mental health and addictions services.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a sound understanding of service delivery related to mental health and addictions within a framework of recovery, population health and integrated intersectoral health care delivery system.
- Comprehensive knowledge of evidence informed best practice skills and quality standards required in mental health and addictions services.
- Demonstrated ability to provide project leadership and manage multiple complex projects.
- Experience analyzing issues and problems systematically, collaborating with key stakeholders, gathering broad and balanced input, drawing sound conclusions and translating into timely actions.
- Demonstrated success in negotiating mutually beneficial agreements and managing change through decision-making, problem-solving, consensus building and dialogue.
- Excellent oral communication skills required for presentations, group facilitation and sustaining productive meetings.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
