Job Description

Our client, a leading telecommunications provider in Baltimore, Maryland, US , is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to join their robust operations team. This role is essential for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's critical network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. You will be responsible for architecting complex network solutions, managing routing and switching systems, overseeing network security protocols, and troubleshooting advanced network issues. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in network protocols, hardware, and software, coupled with a strong understanding of telecommunications technologies and a proactive approach to network management.

Key Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-level network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. Develop and implement network architecture strategies to support current and future business requirements. Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of the company's network services. Monitor network performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement optimization measures. Configure and maintain network security measures, including VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls. Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and infrastructure upgrades. Stay current with emerging network technologies and industry best practices. Participate in on-call rotation for network emergencies and provide 24/7 support as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering and infrastructure management. Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, and other routing and switching protocols. Hands-on experience with network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Arista). Proficiency in network security principles and technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs). Experience with network monitoring tools and performance analysis. Strong understanding of wireless networking technologies. Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, JNCIE are highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
