Our client is looking for a highly experienced and visionary Lead Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join their fully remote, globally distributed team. This senior position will be at the forefront of designing and overseeing the implementation of critical civil infrastructure projects. You will leverage your extensive expertise to lead design teams, ensure compliance with all relevant codes and standards, and drive innovation in sustainable infrastructure development. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of large-scale civil infrastructure projects, including transportation networks, water systems, and urban development. Manage and mentor a team of civil engineers, providing technical guidance and oversight throughout the project lifecycle. Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and prepare detailed engineering reports and specifications. Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, building codes, and environmental standards. Collaborate with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and secure approvals. Develop and implement innovative engineering solutions, incorporating sustainable design principles and emerging technologies. Oversee the preparation of construction documents, including drawings, calculations, and cost estimates. Review and approve engineering work performed by team members and external consultants. Provide expert technical support during the construction phase, addressing design challenges and ensuring quality control. Contribute to business development efforts by supporting proposal writing and client presentations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution; Master's degree preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one US state is required; multi-state licensure is a significant advantage. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on infrastructure design and project management. Demonstrated experience leading design teams and managing complex infrastructure projects (e.g., highways, bridges, water/wastewater treatment plants, site development). Expert knowledge of civil engineering principles, design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS), and relevant industry standards. Strong understanding of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and sustainable design practices. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage remote teams and interact with diverse stakeholders. Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and client relationships. Experience with public sector projects and funding is a plus.
