Overview:We all Really Matter (WARM) is the leading grassroots, minority-led CBO 501 (c) 3 provider of comprehensive services for victims of domestic violence in greater Harlem, Bronx, and Brooklyn. WARM’s mission is to prevent and interrupt the cycle of abuse for individual women and communities of color.
WARM seeks a grant writer to develop proposals to three levels of government in response to RFP’s. This is a contract-based, fee-for-service role focused on producing high-quality, highly competitive proposals aligned with the organization’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
In response to a consulting contract with WARM:
- Write compelling grant proposals
- Collaborate with program staff, including the development director, to develop narratives, budgets, and other support materials
- Develop proposals that clearly and fully respond to funding criteria, as defined in RFPs
- Adhere to RFP deadlines
- Edit and revise proposals based on feedback
- Assist with post-award reporting, as requested
- Comply with other contract terms
Qualifications
- Proven experience and expertise writing successful government grant proposals of a minimum of $500,000 annually, especially in social services and health; experience writing successful domestic violence proposals a plus
- Strong ability to draw on formerly written WARM proposals and create new narratives to develop compelling and responsive answers to RFP questions
- Familiarity with government funders in areas such as domestic violence, children’s services, employment, and mental health
Fee amount and structure: negotiable
Pay: $75.00 - $100.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in New York, NY 10027
