Job Description
Location: Hybrid – Greater Toronto Area (Downtown Toronto office, 2–3 days onsite)
Contract: 8 months with possible extension
Role Overview
Our client is looking for a Platform Engineer with strong experience in Kubernetes and Terraform to support the development and deployment of cloud-native infrastructure and data platform components. This role will focus on infrastructure automation, Kubernetes deployments, and CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, primarily focused on PostgreSQL Flexible Server (PG Flex) and related cloud services.
- Deploy and manage containerized workloads on Kubernetes clusters.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for Kubernetes deployments.
- Collaborate with platform, DevOps, and engineering teams to support reliable application and infrastructure delivery.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
- Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure and container platform issues.
- Ensure infrastructure and deployments follow security, reliability, and operational best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes (deployment, configuration, and operations).
- 5+ years of experience using Terraform for infrastructure-as-code, particularly with PostgreSQL Flexible Server or similar managed database services.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Experience deploying and managing applications in containerized environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in cloud-based environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and platform teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring and logging tools.
- Experience supporting data platforms or analytics workloads.
