Kubernetes and Terraform Platform Engineer

Location: Hybrid – Greater Toronto Area (Downtown Toronto office, 2–3 days onsite)

Contract: 8 months with possible extension

Role Overview

Our client is looking for a Platform Engineer with strong experience in Kubernetes and Terraform to support the development and deployment of cloud-native infrastructure and data platform components. This role will focus on infrastructure automation, Kubernetes deployments, and CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, primarily focused on PostgreSQL Flexible Server (PG Flex) and related cloud services.
• Deploy and manage containerized workloads on Kubernetes clusters.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for Kubernetes deployments.
• Collaborate with platform, DevOps, and engineering teams to support reliable application and infrastructure delivery.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure and container platform issues.
• Ensure infrastructure and deployments follow security, reliability, and operational best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes (deployment, configuration, and operations).
• 5+ years of experience using Terraform for infrastructure-as-code, particularly with PostgreSQL Flexible Server or similar managed database services.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Experience deploying and managing applications in containerized environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in cloud-based environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and platform teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring and logging tools.
• Experience supporting data platforms or analytics workloads.
