Job Summary -

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leads a team of Electrical Engineers, Designers and CAD personnel in the successful execution of electrical engineering and design within budget and on schedule
• Provides technical leadership and guidance for the electrical team
• Mentor engineers-in-training and designers
• Develop conceptual designs, studies, reports and proposals
• Prepare and check calculations as required. For example, cable calculations per IEC 60287 and/or AS/NZS 3008. Open Circuit voltage for solar strings per AS/NZS 5033
• Produce or review single line diagrams, layouts, electrical schematics, termination drawings, and general arrangements up to and including ‘Issued for Construction’ level of detail.
• Produce or review technical schedules associated with electrical design such as Cable Schedules, Equipment Lists, and Material Take Offs.
• Prepare electrical equipment specification packages, andDatasheets for Utility scale Inverters, BESS, Converters, High Voltage cables, RMUs, and HV Transformers.
• Check vendor drawings and data for compliance with specifications
• Prepares detailed design, supply, construction and installation specifications
• Make design decisions informed by knowledge of AS/NZS 3000, AS 3008, AS/NZS 4777, AS/NZS 5033, and AS/NZS 5139
• Ensures effective communication within project teams and with client engineers
• Track project metrics
• Report to Area Project Engineering Manager for project issues and to the overall Electrical Lead for functional issues

QUALIFICATIONS

• Senior Engineer with 10 plus years of relevant experience – preferably in an EPCM environment for industrial projects. Experience in large-scale Utility Solar& BESS projects experience shall be added advantage.
• Engineering degree and registered as a Professional Engineer with the P.E.O or another Australian / Canadian Professional Engineering Association
• Sound Knowledge of industry, regulatory codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI etc). Experience to Australian codes& standards shall be added advantage.
• Proficient with electrical software: ETAP, SKM, and CYMCAP. Understanding of COMOS / SPEL will be added advantage.
• Experience using PVCase in a design context, and PVSyst for energy modelling would be considered favorably.
