Pay: $125,000 - $175,000, based on qualifications and experience
Physical Setting/work location: Columbia, MD. This position is primarily based in our Columbia office; hybrid or remote work arrangements may be considered based on experience and business needs.

Candidates who have maintained SCI eligibility and operated within these environments for approximately ten years or more are strongly preferred.

Vorbeck is seeking a Director, Business Development - Signal Technologies to lead growth initiatives for our Signal Technologies division. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and expanding business opportunities within the Department of War (DoW) research and acquisition organizations (example: NIWC Pacific, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Army Program Executive Office Ground Combat Systems) and within the US Intelligence Community (IC).
The ideal candidate will work closely with Vorbeck’s engineering, product development, and leadership teams to position Vorbeck's advanced conformal antennas, EMI shielding solutions, and graphene-enabled products with DoW and IC customers, as well as industrial partners.

  • Business Development & Growth Strategy: Identify and pursue new opportunities offering Vorbeck the highest probability of win within the DoW, IC, and with industrial partners. Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities that support the company's growth objectives.

  • Customer & Relationship Management: Identify, establish, and maintain relationships with DoW and IC acquisition leaders. Identify and develop relationships with industrial partners whose missions and objectives align with Vorbeck's innovative technologies. Become a trusted resource and primary point of contact for DoW and IC acquisition leaders and industrial partners.

  • Opportunity Identification & Capture: Discover, qualify, and pursue high probability of win opportunities from initial engagement through contract award. Monitor market trends, DoW and IC needs, procurement activities, and emerging opportunities to support long-term business growth.

  • Technical Sales Support: Maintain a detailed understanding of Vorbeck's innovative technologies. Be able to offer accurate cost-savings data available to DoW and IC clients if they choose Vorbeck’s technologies. Be able to explain these advantages to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Proposal & Business Development Support: Lead writing and development of proposals, presentations, white papers, technical responses, and other business development materials in collaboration with Vorbeck’s engineering and leadership teams.

  • Continuous Improvement & Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, customer feedback, and emerging technologies to identify growth opportunities and support strategic business decisions. Identify Vorbeck technologies that would benefit from publication in trade and technical journals trusted by the DoW and IC. Ensure articles about these technologies get published.

  • Other Responsibilities: Support additional business development, sales, and strategic growth initiatives as assigned.

  • Travel (Expected): 25–50%.

Education
