The successful candidate must be a critical thinker with strong writing skills and a keen eye for detail, who is able to understand the perspectives of various stakeholders involved in our work. The successful candidate must be thorough and able to synthesize information into well-supported and well-structured reports. Vertex is looking for a flexible team player to embrace our company’s culture and produce innovative ideas that will strengthen our existing processes and procedures while maintaining the level of consistency required within the organization.candidate qualificationsdiploma or higher in Environmental Science, Biological Science, Natural Resource Management, Technical Writing or other applicable fieldHas the ability to obtain or holds a current membership with a relevant professional organizationWorking knowledge of and ability to interpret environmental regulations, guidelines and standardsDemonstrated technical writing abilityStrong command of the English language including but not limited to excellent writing, grammar, spelling and formattingDemonstrated self-motivation, communication and decision-making skillsAbility to work independently and in a teamAttention to detail and experience preparing well-designed, error-free documentsAbility to analyze data, draw conclusions and provide recommendations to clientsProficient in Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Word and Excel1-2 years of previous experience in the consulting, oil and gas or environment industries is an assetresponsibilitiesreview and finalize various environmental reports for all scopes of work, including Phase 1 and 2 Environmental Site Assessments, Spill Assessments, Remediations, Site Specific Liability Assessments, Detailed Site Assessments, etc., within the Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan regulatory jurisdictionsKeep up-to-date on industry guidelinesCreate high-quality content that conveys technical conceptsLOCATIONThis position will be based out of either our Calgary or Sherwood Park offices.additional informationcompensation is commensurate with education and experienceA comprehensive benefit package is providedAPPLY NOWIn your application, please include the following:ResumeRecent writing sampleWith a track record of success, Vertex provides a fast-paced environment where people thrive.
