About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR leader to head the Human Resources function at our manufacturing facility in Sanand, Ahmedabad.
The incumbent will play a strategic and operational role in driving Employee Relations, Industrial Relations, Administration, and HR initiatives while ensuring a harmonious work environment and supporting business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations (ER) - 50%:
- Develop and implement effective Employee Relations strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Foster a positive workplace culture focused on engagement, productivity, and employee satisfaction.
- Drive employee communication initiatives and grievance handling mechanisms.
- Build trust-based relationships across all employee categories.
- Lead employee engagement programs, welfare initiatives, and retention strategies.
- Ensure discipline management and adherence to company policies.
- Support talent retention and succession planning initiatives.
Industrial Relations (IR):
- Manage Industrial Relations activities and maintain harmonious relations with workers and employee representatives.
- Handle union interactions, negotiations, settlements, and conflict resolution.
- Participate in collective bargaining processes and wage negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with labour legislations and industrial statutes.
- Manage disciplinary proceedings, domestic enquiries, and legal matters related to labour issues.
- Liaise with labour authorities, government departments, and external stakeholders.
- Proactively identify and mitigate industrial relations risks.
Administration - 30%:
- Oversee overall plant administration activities.
- Manage security operations, transportation, housekeeping, canteen services, and facility management.
- Monitor vendor performance and administration budgets.
- Ensure smooth functioning of support services for plant operations.
- Maintain workplace safety standards and coordinate with EHS teams.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives in administrative functions.
- Ensure effective infrastructure and facility management.
HR Operations - 20%:
- Lead end-to-end HR operations for the manufacturing facility.
- Ensure seamless execution of recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning.
- Monitor attendance, leave management, payroll coordination, and manpower optimization.
- Drive performance management processes and organizational development initiatives.
- Support learning and development programs for plant employees.
- Maintain HRMIS records and employee documentation.
- Ensure implementation of HR policies and procedures across the plant.
Statutory Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws and statutory regulations.
- Manage compliance related to Factories Act, Industrial Disputes Act, Shops & Establishment Act, Contract Labour Act, Minimum Wages Act, EPF, ESI, Bonus Act, Gratuity Act, Standing Orders, and Apprenticeship regulations.
- Conduct compliance audits and ensure timely statutory filings.
- Coordinate with legal advisors and external consultants when required.
Leadership Expectations:
- Act as a strategic HR business partner for plant leadership.
- Build high-performing teams and mentor HR professionals.
- Drive organizational culture transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrate strong stakeholder management capabilities.
- Support business expansion, workforce productivity, and operational excellence.
- Deliver HR solutions aligned with manufacturing business goals.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Male candidate preferred.
- MBA in HR/IR/ER or equivalent qualification from a reputed institution.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in manufacturing organizations.
- Significant exposure to Employee Relations, Industrial Relations, Administration, and Plant HR.
- Proven expertise in handling labour unions and workforce relations.
- Strong understanding of labour laws and statutory compliance.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Stable career progression with reputed manufacturing organizations.
- Energetic, passionate, result-oriented, and hands-on professional.
- Immediate joiners or candidates serving notice period up to 45 days will be preferred.
