Prioritized Must Have Skills For The Senior Electrical Engineer

#1. BS in Mechanical Engineering

#2. Active Mechanical PE

#3. 10 15 years consulting engineering experience

#4. HVAC and plumbing system design

#5. AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC load calculation software

Responsibilities Of The Senior Electrical Engineer

  • Self-motivated team play willing to work closely with business development team and other leads in developing technical proposals and take a proactive role in marketing/business development.
  • Perform the following functions:
  • Design of HVAC and plumbing systems
  • Manage and design multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong ability to interpret technical drawings
  • Lead design team efforts
  • Manage project team for budget and schedule control
  • Develop fee and qualification-based proposals
  • Familiarity with relevant codes: mechanical, energy, plumbing and ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards
  • Reading and preparing project drawings including ductwork plans, piping plans, sections, isometric piping drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using standard industry programs
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment .
  • Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities .
  • Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint software preferred. Must understand database concepts. Working knowledge of marketing databases and proposal resources files.
  • Conduct marketing/business development activities
  • Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.

Requirements Of The Senior Electrical Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S) in Mechanical engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering (required)
  • 10 to 15 years of experience
  • Experience with Load Calculation Software
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Project Management experience and/or certifications
  • Desire to lead inter-disciplinary projects and project teams
  • Experience with energy modeling is a plus
  • Local AHJ experience and relationships is a plus
  • Active local industry involvement is a plus

Other Key Requirements

  • Must be able to work in the office four (4) days a week
  • Willingness to travel for occasional site visits
