Role Overview:
As a Construction Manager at vConstruct, you will be responsible for leading construction projects in the Advance Tech market in India, with a specific focus on Data Centre projects. With a team of 500+ professionals, vConstruct aims to transform the construction industry by leveraging technologies such as BIM, Software Development, Data Science, and Analytics. Key Responsibilities:
- Project Charter:
- Understand project requirements and develop a detailed Project Charter
- Align key stakeholders and prepare a draft Project Execution Plan
- Collaborate with the client's team to define the project matrix
- Project Planning:
- Provide inputs for sequencing activities in the master schedule
- Guide the project Planning Manager/Engineer in finalizing the Master Schedule
- Finalize detailed project schedules in the final design concept stage
- High-level budgeting and costing:
- Develop high-level budget based on available details
- Establish unit rates for materials and labor
- Update cost database to reflect trends and price fluctuations
- Tendering & Bid Support:
- Lead the tendering process and analyze tender documents
- Evaluate technical submissions by vendors/suppliers
- Take ownership of the Tender Event Schedule
- Value Engineering & Cost Optimization:
- Plan Value Engineering workshops and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Guide planning and design management teams on schedule and change management
- Coordination & Collaboration:
- Coordinate with team members at all project stages
- Proactively manage risks and collaborate with clients and stakeholders
- Conduct site visits and ensure design intent during construction
- Change Management:
- Prepare a detailed change management process
- Review changes and minimize impacts through value engineering initiatives
- Contract Administration:
- Ensure draft contracts are prepared and respond to queries from contractors/vendors
- Support clients in legal issues or arbitrations raised by contractors/vendors
- Project Handover and Closeout:
- Coordinate with teams for timely project closure
- Support in developing detailed Handover Document and financial closure
- Continuous Improvement:
- Capture lessons learned and review feedback for process improvement
Qualification Required:
- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Master/Advance Tech studies preferred
- Experience: 15-18 years in the Indian market, managing data center projects
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of construction practices, procurement, and supply chain
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills
