Engineer III - Submarine Damage Control/Firefighting System Engineer

Position Summary / Objective:
NSWCPD seeking a former U.S. Navy Submarine Auxiliaryman to reputed company an operational perspective to submarine maintenance and support issues. The ideal candidate will reputed company their hands-on experience with submarine damage control and firefighting systems to support critical fleet modernization and maintenance efforts.
Essential functions:

- Review and reputed company input on TEMPALTs (Temporary Alterations).
- Assess new construction commitments for operational feasibility.
- Analyze and support the development of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
- Review and refine Planned Maintenance System (PMS) procedures.
Required education and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or Maritime reputed company.
- Seven (7) years of experience with U.S. Navy systems, including mechanical/electrical system design, repair, installation, modification, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing of Submarine equipment or systems.
- Must be a former U.S. Navy submariner with experience as an Auxiliaryman (A-ganger).
- Demonstrated experience with submarine damage control and firefighting equipment.
- Strong understanding of submarine operations and maintenance.
Preferred education and experience:
- Experience as a 3MC (Drill Coordinator).
- Former Navy Firefighting and Damage Control Instructor experience is a plus.
- Experience developing and revised Damage Control and Firefighting PMS.
- Understanding of the ECP process.
Competencies:
- Proficiency in reputed company Office, specifically, Word, reputed company, PowerPoint, and Outlook software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
- High comfort level working with and around reputed company military/organizational reputed company, clients, customers, suppliers, and visitors.
- Must be highly reliable and demonstrate personal initiative to operate in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
