Licensed Customs Broker (Import & Compliance)

As part of our expansion in cross-border logistics, we are looking for a Licensed Customs Broker to support and scale our import and compliance operations in Canada.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and licensed Customs Broker to manage the customs clearance process for shipments entering Canada. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, preparing accurate documentation, and coordinating with carriers, brokers, and internal teams to ensure smooth and timely clearance.

This position also offers the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and support the growth of our internal customs capabilities within a technology-driven logistics platform.

• Prepare and submit import documentation in compliance with Canada Border Services Agency regulations
• Classify goods using HS codes and determine applicable duties and taxes
• Ensure compliance with Canadian import regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements
• Manage PARS entries and support customs release processes
• Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party brokers for shipment clearance
• Review commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading for accuracy
• Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve clearance delays
• Communicate with customers regarding duties, documentation, and clearance status
• Identify inefficiencies in customs workflows and recommend improvements
• Collaborate with internal teams (operations, product, and IT) to enhance automation and system integration
• Support the development of standardized procedures (SOPs) for customs operations

Qualifications

• Valid Canadian Customs Broker License (CBSA)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in customs brokerage, import/export, or freight forwarding
• Strong knowledge of HS classification, duty/tax calculation, and Canadian import regulations
• Experience with customs software systems (e.g., Descartes, CargoWise, or similar)
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills in English (Mandarin is an asset)

Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
